I am the Founder and CEO of Life’s Natural Solutions, an educational consultancy dedicated to advancing systems change.

My work focuses on one of the defining challenges of our time: how humanity can transition from an extractive economy to one that sustains life. Through my latest initiative, I am leading the development of a Life Sustaining Economy—a pioneering framework that redefines sustainability around the protection and regeneration of the Earth's life-support systems.

Achieving this requires two fundamental transitions: sustaining and regenerating the natural systems that support all life, and creating a truly closed-loop Circular Economy that does no harm to human or environmental health.

This initiative extends beyond today's Circular and Bio-based Economy models by providing an alternative pathway grounded in practical, scientifically informed solutions that regenerate life rather than simply reduce harm.

MY BACKGROUND

Recent

I have spent the last two and half years deeply researching both circular and bio-based economies and current sustainability initiatives to find out what the issues are, what is missing and what doesn’t go far enough. This included a deep dive into bio-based products and packaging looking at materials, chemicals, how they were manufactured, and what their end of life options were to create an alternative that does no harm for human and environmental health.

Based on this research, I found real life solutions and practices to form the foundations of a framework to transition to a Life Sustaining Economy, thereby creating a new pathway, an alternative to the status quo with a new vision, mission and purpose for sustainability.

I am an expert on the Biology of Cognition, the work of Chilean Biologist and Systems Thinker, the late Prof. Humberto Maturana. He received many international awards for his ground breaking work—the theories of living systems, perception and the biology of cognition. This expertise includes systems thinking and a circular/systemic view of life.

Led a global campaign to transition to a Circular Economy.

I am part of the Great Transition Initiative (GTI), an international network of scholars and activists that analyzes alternative scenarios and charts a path to a hopeful future.

I am a former member of the Advisory Board of the Barcelona Consensus, a project dedicated to transitioning to a sustainable society.

I am also the author of three books:
